John Drammani Mahama completed The Asset Declaration forms to the Auditor General, as mandated...
The President of Ghana openly and transparently work strictly to ensure his reality in governance.
After The submission, He shared some relevant words.
Earlier this morning, I undertook a simple yet significant task of submitting my completed Asset Declaration forms to the Auditor General, as mandated by Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution and the Public Office Holders (Declaration of Assets and Disqualifications) Act 1998 (Act 550).
I have publicly presented the forms to promote openness and transparency in the asset declaration process. I have always argued that, while it is commendable to punish corruption, a more effective approach to tackling the problem is to prevent it from arising in the first place.
If appropriately curated and enforced, the asset declaration process can serve as a sustainable tool for combating corruption. I have also taken this step to send an unequivocal signal to all public office holders, particularly those I have appointed, that I regard the declaration of assets with utmost seriousness and expect full compliance from them.
