"I launched the African Union theme for 2025, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations", at the ongoing 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union.  Through this launch, we aim to mobilise the political will and commitment to reparatory justice and racial healing, present and discuss the roadmap for implementing the 2025 theme of the year, foster partnerships among AU member states, communities, and like-minded international allies, and engage stakeholders in resource mobilisation. Our goal is to ultimately ensure an end to the culture of silence and denial surrounding racism and colonialism.
